The whole book which is here offered to the public has been written under the impression of a kind of religious dread produced in the author’s mind by the contemplation of so irresistible a revolution, which has advanced for centuries in spite of such amazing obstacles, and which is still proceeding in the midst of the ruins it has made. It is not necessary that God himself should speak in order to disclose to us the unquestionable signs of His will; we can discern them in the habitual course of nature, and in the invariable tendency of events: I know, without a special revelation, that the planets move in the orbits traced by the Creator’s finger. If the men of our time were led by attentive observation and by sincere reflection to acknowledge that the gradual and progressive development of social equality is at once the past and future of their history, this solitary truth would confer the sacred character of a Divine decree upon the change. To attempt to check democracy would be in that case to resist the will of God; and the nations would then be constrained to make the best of the social lot awarded to them by Providence.

“So irresistible a revolution…” Ronald Reagan put it another way: he called it mankind’s “long climb from the swamp to the stars.” I like Reagan’s quote… it gives the impression that humans are constantly struggling to launch themselves upward, instead of implying that we should look back to a false “Golden Age.”
And an upward climb this will be. After all, our adversaries can play by a double standard, dictate the message that the media will carry, and set the tone and timbre of the narrative? It has even stooped to the point that it looks like the Tea Partiers will have to be on the lookout for impostors. So, having thrown everything they had at the movement, the statists now have to resort to the really big guns– false flag operations. [1] (Hey, at least Andy Stern’s out of a job… SEIU might not be at the rallies…) This understandable. Unfortunate, but understandable. After all, the Left spent a year throwing around terms like “racist,” “teabagger,” “redneck,” “uneducated,” and the like around, and what they got back was:
… a pretty big slap in the face.[2] This, in addition to the eggs, the constant degrading comments, and being called “outlandish”… by Maxine Waters. Err, outlandish? If we’re outlandish, then what does that make Mr. Grayson? You know, the guy that supports Code Pink kidnapping Karl Rove?
The irony of all this is that less than 50 years ago, it was the Left doing this. The difference is that now “the Man” knows all about Alinsky’s tactics, and is using them. (Good thing we’ve got our very own former Alinsky radical, and he prints material on how to fight in the political arena.)
Notice how the message is being shaped, though. The Tea Party movement is fringe extreme, “astroturf,” full of angry people, and racist. When in reality, our views are in line with the Founders, we’re grassroots, no violence has occurred at our rallies, and we have a wide selection of members.
Compare this to the Left, which is composed of self-professed radicals, bused in by the unions, writes stuff like this, and does stuff like this (Mr. Gladney’s account here). (Hmm, with that much projection, this book title makes sense…) Worst of all is that they’re blind to their own bias.[3]
Now, I understand that conservatives have a few of their own that are off-kilter, but we don’t hold a candle to the Left.
As far as being “angry,” some of us are. Why, you ask? (Takes deep breath) How about the stimulus[4], destroying GM[5], f*cking over our economy[6], treating heads of state like this[7], or like this, ramping up the bread and circuses[8], “read my lips, no new taxes“[9], our President bowing to everyone with a pulse, talking to us like we’re children[10], starting a war on Fox News, or throwing like a girl![11] That’s just the ones I remember off the top of my head– here’s a 1,300+ item list!
So, yes, we’re “angry,” and we’re going to change things. In our neighborhoods, towns, counties, states… we’re going to work. I can only imagine that the scene in Nancy’s office right now must look something like this:
And, now some inspiration. [12] And yes, we’re everywhere– I saw a Gadsen flag at my university the other night.
