It’s called “inflammatory or non-inflammatory.” (Or “I OR NOT I” if you want a shorter version.) Look at each of the following quotes, and determine whether or not they’re inflammatory.
“Yes… Yeah, I’m glad the president passed health care. Yeah. Funky [CENSORED], racist-[CENSORED] Republicans hate that, don’t you? Jean Schmitt, when you got hit by that car, or you fell, or whatever… you should’ve broke your back, [CENSORED]. You… And Boehner, [CENSORED]… that Mitch McConnell. All you racist [CENSORED] Republicans. Why don’t you just change ya’ll party name to racist? Cuz if one of those [CENSORED] Tea baggers had spitted on me, I’d have shot all them in the [CENSORED] face with my [CENSORED] 9 milli-meter. [CENSORED] all you racist [CENSORED].” — Anonymous Caller (Well, at least until the FBI and Secret Service track the call.)
“Well, there are a lot of angry Americans and they are angry over this health care bill. They’re angry about the fact that the Democrats here in Washington aren’t listening to them. But I’ve got to tell you that violence and threats are unacceptable. It is not the American way. Yes, I know there is anger, but let’s take that anger, and go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, and let’s do it the right way. I’m concerned about the amount of violence and anger that’s out there … it’s unacceptable.” — John Boehner
“We need to make sure that the tool that we use in ‘taking up arms if you will’ is our vote. It’s supporting contested primaries and healthy debate in our elections that are upcoming.” — Sarah Palin
(Please note: both above via Cocked and Loaded)
“I think they’re Astroturf… You be the judge. They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare.” — Nancy Pelosi
“Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I’m not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security. But, let’s not play games and pretend that the reason [for the deficit] is because of the Recovery Act.” — Barack Obama
“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. It’s not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes—they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about, they don’t know their history. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism, straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of tea-bagging rednecks. And there is no way around that.” — Janeane Garofalo

Okay, it’s pretty apparent which quotes above are intended to stir the pot, and which are meant to turn off the heat and yank the lid off. They also illustrate a few key things about the Left… namely, that they’re either asleep at the switch or automatons. Allow me to highlight a few sections:
I’m glad the president passed health care. Yeah. Funky [CENSORED], racist-[CENSORED] Republicans hate that, don’t you?
The person making this call makes two assumptions. The first is that this bill will help him, and therefore, all opposition to it must be motivated by hate for his race. What about the non-peach-colored Republicans who voted against it, the non-peach-colored Tea Party protesters who rallied against it, and the non-peach-colored economists who state how bad it is? Are they all racist, too?
Cuz if one of those [CENSORED] Tea baggers had spitted on me, I’d have shot all them in the [CENSORED] face with my [CENSORED] 9 milli-meter.
Wow. I thought it was us “tea baggers” who were the angry ultra-violent ones. Anybody wanna bet that this guy has talked about the “violent tea baggers” within the last month? Cognitive dissonance, anyone?
I’m concerned about the amount of violence and anger that’s out there … it’s unacceptable.
For a racist man who is (according to some) sleeping with his mother, Representative Boehner seems oddly calm. (sorry, I just had to throw this in. It was either this or a Lazarus Long reference.)
It’s not about taxes—they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about, they don’t know their history.
Err… really? Would you care to enlighten us about what the original Tea Party was about? Or maybe the Sons of Liberty revolts? Or the relationship between the Sons of Liberty and the Fraternal Order of the Red Man? Care to take a swing at that?

One of the accusations throw at pro-liberty groups is that we’re “shills” or “AstroTurf.” This is odd, seeing as if the NRA tried anything like, I don’t know, having one supporter write letters to 42 “local” newspapers or created a letter generator to spam papers with letters, the media would be howling about “the gun lobby.” Heck, I have to think up stuff to write in my letters to people– if I had a letter generator, I’d be sending as many emails to my congressman as he does to me!
The other half of the argument against pro-liberty groups is that we’re one monolithic, centrally-controlled group. Which is why when groups of us together, the members range from Asian women to homosexual men to white Catholic males. (Wait, what?) In talking to people on the far left, I’ve gotten to the point that I think that they’re like my satellite box– about 3 in the morning, they shut off for updates. I have seen people from across the U.S. make the same exact argument with the same exact wording… within moments of each other. And when you see the current angst over Hitler comparisons– when the left did it for eight years– it’s stunning.
Hey, at least us gunnies aren’t controlled from a central computer, rig ***[Updating System Configuration, please do not turn off or unplug receiver.]***
