Persons of color object to having “African American/black/negro” as a choice on the 2010 census. So, I can complain about having “white/Caucasian” on the form too, right? Do these same people object to having “negro” be the Spanish word for “black?”
Not all white people came from the Caucasus mountains, which is the reason I object to being called “Caucasian.” I’m an American, period. Describing me by my skin color, much less making assumptions about my origins, or the origins of my ancestors, is insulting.
But hey, at least we have the first black President in the White House, right?

Remember, Billy Clinton was the first “African American” president.
