Free piece of advice to the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center). If you’re trying to shade militias as evil white men who devour children for breakfast and then put on flannel to go work at “the fac’try,” your best best is to do the work yourself.
Otherwise, some newspaper might do a decent job covering local militias. They might even take pictures showing them as honest, ordinary, hard-working folk. I mean, sure, the article has about a dozen errors in it (AR-16s, “converted” weapons, etc.) but it’s fair, honest, and not a hatchet job.
However, some of the comments are… “special.” Take the first one: “I hope the FBI is all over these nuts. They need to be tracked like sex offenders.” Umm… what? They’re practicing an enumerated right, not molesting kids.
