Story from the local area

Short history: Southern schools sometimes allows prayer.  ACLU picks random school, forces court order to forbid school prayer.  Members of school continue praying.  Hell breaks looseOne member has been acquitted.

What’s sad is that once upon a time in this country, Congress printed Bibles.

You know, I never understood that. Even back in the dark days when I was a godless liberal atheist, I didn’t care about prayer in school. My line of thought was that since I believed that God didn’t exist, what harm was there in letting those who do believe in one pray to him.

Obviously I don’t believe that now that I have met Jesus, but even back then, I didn’t understand why the atheists couldn’t just leave the theists alone. The atheists rail against people trying to “shove their beliefs down others throats” yet engage in the same behavior.

For some reason, I cannot imagine you as a liberal, or an atheist. But then, I was once a Great Society UFO cultist, so I know where you’re coming from…
