What goes up…

Must come down.  Is this the least bit unexpected?  The Obama administration got caught in the perfect Catch-22: what they were doing was illegal (per a portion of the United States Code put into place after Nixon’s presidency,) but they couldn’t delete anything because of retention laws.  Hence, if they kept the site up, they’d just get themselves into even more trouble.

Anybody want to place bets on when the investigation starts? 63

They’ve moved the activity to the White House’s Reality Check website. If its questionable or illegal at one location isn’t it illegal at the other? J

Well, according to the way that section of the USC reads, it’s illegal for the President to capture and store the voices, faces, and expressions of free speech of private citizens. I don’t know for certain… I just think it’s Orwellian (not to mention Wilsonian) to ask citizens to inform on their neighbors. (Not to mention the whole issue of the spam email they sent out last week.)
